SWIM CLASSES

Parent & Child

  • Parents work in the water with their children. Ages ranging from newborn to 2½ years old.
  • Sharing in the learning experience. An instructor guides parents in lessons.
  • Max of 6 babies per class.


Penguin

  • Children between 2½ and 3 years old establish coordination in the water and learn the basic skills of swimming.
  • Max of 3 students per class.


Manatee
- Water Introduction

  • For students who have never been introduced to the water or who have a fear of water.
  • In this level we introduce them to personal water safety & comfort, such as listening and following directions and staying seated. Along with the water safety features we also introduce blowing bubbles, full submersions, floating, kicking, and rowing through the water.


Seahorse
- Skill Development

  • For students who are comfortable in the water but have little experience.
  • In this level our water safety features include, floating and getting back to the wall. We also introduce breath control,  streamlines, & dives, while still reinforcing all the skills obtained in the Manatee level


Octopus
- Basic Stroke Introduction

  • For students who are able to swim 20 feet and float on their own.
  • The safety feature in this level is learning how to get a breath and rest while swimming long distances. This level concentrates on proper kicking on front and back, with side breathing.


Otter
- Basic Stroke Development

  • For students who have mastered safety skills and who are independent in the water.
  • We introduce the arm strokes on both the front and back, while refining the swimming and safety skills obtained in the previous levels.


Manta Ray
- Advance Stroke Introduction

  • For students who are able to swim Freestyle and Backstroke.
  • This level introduces the basics of Breaststroke and Butterfly, along with treading water, racing turns and water safety for others.


Seal
- Advanced Stroke Development

  • For students who need to develop their skills in Breaststroke and Butterfly.
  • Along with completing these two strokes, children learn racing starts and dives, while still reinforcing treading water and water safety skills.


Dolphin
- Stroke Refinement

  • For students who are about to do all four competitive strokes.
  • In this level they polish their strokes and build endurance while introducing them to swim team drills and exercises.


Shark
- Endurance Based Swim Team Training

  • This is an hour long class. Students must have mastered all four strokes. The purpose of this class is to build endurance and confidence needed for Swim Team.


Adult Swim Lessons

  • Classes for the Adult Beginner.  For those who want to improve or maintain their skill level.
  • Stroke training for Tri-Athletes.




  • Children who have reached the age of 3 move up through the basic levels,

Manatee, Seahorse, Octopus – based on their growing independence in the water.

  • Please note that all ages suggested in class descriptions (other than Parent/Child and Penguin) are estimates based on past experience.
